- MATLAB: programmed simulations of optical phenomena, designed diffractive optical elements
- Optical Design (Zemax and Code V): telescopes, apochromats, assembly of off-the-shelf optics, tolerancing and yield estimation, lens drawing preparation, wrote macros to accelerate workflow
- Optical Alignment: designed and assembled optical systems and testing setups, created optical system build and alignment plan in industry setting, opto-mechanical integration
- Opto-Mechanical Design: SolidWorks
- Fabrication and Prototyping: 3D printing, maskless photolithography, micro/nano-fabrication, soldering
- Optical Testing and Metrology: used phase-shifting interferometry to measure thin films
- Capable of operating micro/nanofabrication equipment independently in the cleanroom
- Proven track record as a leader in a variety of arenas, including the classroom, Girls Who Code, student-athlete tutoring center, and the UA Philharmonic Orchestra
About Me
Originally from Taiwan, I grew up in Singapore and Shanghai before moving to Tucson, Arizona for college. I am a global citizen at heart and am always happy to make friends and collaborate with people from all over the world, and from all walks of life. Outside of optics, I am a passionate musician and enjoy playing chamber music. During my time at the Fred Fox School of Music, I played in both the Arizona Symphony and the UA Philharmonic. I am also passionate about mentoring the next generation of creatives through volunteering with organizations like Girls Who Code. My time in Arizona has been marked by many great mentors, and it gives me great satisfaction to be able to give back to this community.
